Validation Demo
Appearance
Every Subject is checked against its Schema as you edit it. Each constraint carries a severity: warnings inform, errors block saving on wikis that enforce validation. This wiki does not, so invalid values are stored, and the editor shows their violations again when reopened.
Try it
Open the Data tab of Validation Clean, choose Edit, and break a value: clear the Title, set the Score to 150, or change a Tags entry to ftp://example.com. Each violation appears at its field with its severity.
| Property | Constraint | Severity |
|---|---|---|
| Title | required | error |
| Summary | 10 to 100 characters | warning |
| Aliases | no duplicate entries | warning |
| Homepage | required, a valid URL | error |
| Tags | valid URLs | error, fixed |
| Score | 0 to 100 | error |
| Status | required, one of three options | warning |
| Release date | 2020 to 2030 | warning |
| Last reviewed | 2020 to 2030, with time | warning |
| Related product | must point at a Product | error, fixed |
How this is built
- Schema:Validation Demo; the Schema editor sets the severity per constraint.
- Constraint severity and Validation codes in the documentation.
- This Schema as a JSON Schema document, stating every constraint whatever its severity; JSON Schema in the documentation.
