'''The Milkmaid''' is a c. 1657 to 1658 oil on canvas by the Dutch master [[Johannes Vermeer]]. It shows a domestic servant pouring milk from a jug, rendered with the careful observation of light and texture that defines Vermeer's mature work.

The [[Rijksmuseum]] in [[Amsterdam]] has held it since 1908. It is regarded as one of the defining genre paintings of the Dutch Golden Age.
