Antwerp
Antwerp is the largest city in the Flemish Region of Belgium and a major port on the river Scheldt. A leading centre of trade and the arts since the 16th century, its historic centre and harbour have long shaped the city's wealth and culture.
Antwerp is strongly associated with the painter Peter Paul Rubens, whose house and studio survive as a museum, and holds major collections at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum aan de Stroom.
